This weekend I competed in my first pageant associated with the Miss America Organization. Does this make me a pageant queen? I don't think I'm on that level yet, but my experience was awesome.
Why did I compete in a pageant? Mostly to try something completely different. I'm pretty comfortable with the agriculture industry, and I'm getting used to the whole college life, so I thought I could mix up my life a little bit. And mixing it up was defiantly what I did! A Miss America Organization pageant consists of the following: interview, opening number, fitness, talent, on stage question, and formal gown. I also had to get a photo of a headshot along with come up with a dance solo after two years of retirement. Thanks to a few awesome people, my papers (resume and platform) were completed and the dance was finished. I was ready to compete! I've never been one to be into fashion, but as I grow up I have developed an addiction to find cost effective, trendy clothes. I think my family is impressed on how college has changed me, and my clothes! Have you tried fur vests? They're way in right now and here's my first vest (found at Target) and my first outfit with the vest. Share your outfits, I need inspiration!
Day two on the Indianapolis adventure, (don't miss day one) and we are waiting for the bus to take us to Dow Agriscience's headquarters to attended the AgChat National Collegiate Congress. The bus may have been an hour late after it went to the wrong hotel, but that didn't slow us down! Here is a list of advice I learned on how to improve advocating for agriculture.
